Kava numb mouth

Simple question does the amount of numbness in mouth let you know how strong a kava will be? I have recently purchased kava from my local magic shop and it is not very strong, and doesnt cause much numbness in the mouth. So, assuming you prepare different kavas with the same root/water ratio, the more numb your mouth, the higher the kavain. My mouth remains feeling numb still in a mild but noticeable way the next day and won’t really go away. Right near the beginning of my kava journey I tried chewing cut pieces of root once and that REALLY numbed my mouth. I do notice some numbing when I drink it traditionally prepped, but what I notice more is that when the kava starts taking effect, my face feels numb.
